  • There is a festive procession in your town where people are dancing in the procession in front of floats mounted on trucks. You are riding on one of the trucks. There is a huge crowd to greet and cheer on both sides of the road and in the buildings facing the road. Draw a pencil sketch of what you will see from your position on top of the truck. (50 Marks)

  • Design and draw in the given space a Mural (Composition made of panels/ tiles and such other objects fixed on the wall) to be made on one of the walls in the entrance lobby of a secondary school using 4 hexagons, 3 squares and 2 circles. Colour the composition using three colours.
  •  (25 Marks)

  • In the given rectangle draw a stable 3-dimensional composition using equal numbers of glucose, Marie, krackjack and any cream biscuits. Show shade and shadows on the composition. (25 Marks)

  • Imagine yourself to be a 6 years old girl/boy. You, along with your father, are visiting a city zoo. You are standing next to an elephant in the zoo. Draw a pencil sketch showing what you would see. (50 Marks)

  • Using primary shapes like square/triangle and circle design a traffic signage on the road indicating a Railway station nearby. Colour the composition by using any 2 colours in addition to white. (25 Marks)

  • Four pieces out of eight pieces of around birthday cake are remaining on a plate with the knife in the plate and two extinguished candles near the plate. Draw a three-dimensional composition of these objects showing shades and shadows. (25 Marks)

  • Using at least four shapes of the moon in various phases make an interesting composition by overlapping/repeating these shapes. Colour the composition in shades of any one colour.  (25 Marks)

  • Make a visually appealing two-dimensional composition using the basic geometric shape of a mango. You may use the shape any number of times and overlap it. Colour the composition in shades of two colours in a medium of your choice.

  • On your grandfather's study desk you find there are 3 thick books, a pair of reading glasses, a magnifying glass, a table clock and glass of drinking water lying there. You place these objects in a manner to make an attractive sculpture-like composition. Draw in pencil only the composition as seen from one of the angles and also show shades and shadows on it.

  • Choose any room in your house. Imagine your height is reduced to around 40 cms. How will you see the furniture layout of that room from your viewpoint? (50 Marks)

  • Create and draw in given space a pattern using basic geometrical shapes (e.g. Square, hexagon, circle, triangle, etc.) for a border around the entrance door to an old haveli (Mansion). The pattern you will draw is to be repeated in a linear arrangement to form the border. Colour the pattern using any three colours of your choice. (Please draw only the pattern and not entire door) (25 Marks)

  • On a table next to wall two thick books are standing vertically with one pencil box atop these, Light is thrown at an angle of 45 degrees from the left. Draw the whole composition with shade and shadow. (25 Marks)

  • In the given space arrange three cricket balls, one cricket bat, stumps & a cricket cap to make an interesting, abstract, stable, three-dimensional composition like a still life. Also, show the effect of light & shade on the objects. Your composition should be sufficiently large to fill the drawing space.  (25 Marks)
